thank you Jennilee

so here we are. Our final destination. It's truly spectacular. The pic you see on my home page is the view from our front window. This is what we have been waiting for, hoping for, and wishing for. We love British Columbia.

I have decided that it would be fun to blog about the beauty of the land and life in general in BC.

When Rod and I married, we decided that BC is where we wanted to lay down our roots and settle down. Our problem was that we didnt know how to go about it, money of course was a big factor. BUT, when you want something, and think about it enough, it comes to you.

The opportunity came along this summer while we were living in Hay river NWT, which we hated. We need to acknowledge Jennilee Gundrum here. Jennilee is our neice who passed away this July in a horrible car accident. We couldnt afford to fly to the funeral in abbotsford BC( the cost to fly out of the north is stupid) so we drove. yes, 2000km. It was great.

Jenilee's passing was not in vain. It brought Rod and his sister and brother back together and starting the process for us to move here, something we may have never done if left to us under normal circumstances. So, Thanks sweety, we do miss you!
Road trippin' seems to be something we do in our family. I had never been to BC before and well, I fell in love of course. We had talked about it for so long, and somehow ended up in Hay river chasing money instead of our own dreams! big mistake. Everything fell into place and we left Hay river 2 weeks later and moved our family to BC.

The move has been a hard one, but when I need to unwind or relax I simply look out my front window and remember that I have moved to paradise. It works every time.

so this blog is for our family and friends so we can share our love of BC with them and its a great way to share all those pictures I keep taking!

Welcome, and please leave me some comments!!

Woo hoo! Good to see you back blogging. How was the drive with the dogs? How are the girls? How much stuff did you end up leaving there?

My name is Joanne and I am Jenilee's moms best friend. I have started a non profit foundation to honor Jen's memory and to help her mom by way of showing her that this will not go in vain. The rest of my life is dedicated to helping your family cope especially Cindy and her girls cope with Jen's passing. I have started a blog last night at wordpress.com
Jenilee Foundation's supports the teachers of Self Improvement. We currently have people who have so graciously offered to pay for all the expenses associated with the development of the Jenilee Foundation website (by the way they are one of the best in Vancouver WebKrave.com) A thank you note from Jenilee's aunt would be very appropriate some time down the line. Keep in tough with me but my time is limited and we can use help from volunteers if you ever are interested.
